Passion Never Retires for Michelle Paisley Reed

What is the best thing that I love about my work?  The best thing about my work is that it doesn’t feel like “work” at all—it feels like PLAY! When I channel the inspiration for my books, I feel as if I go to an alternate dimension where the wisdom is directly downloaded. When I speak, that wisdom flows through me as oral communication that moves people. In whatever medium I create, I am serving humanity by lifting my own vibration, knowing we are all connected—all One Spirit, expressing as individual souls.

What is my idea of perfect happiness? My idea of perfect happiness—of joy, because that lasts longer—is maintaining the highest vibration possible no matter what is going on around me. It’s when everyday feels like a “beach” day, shared with those closest to me.

What is my greatest fear? Ever since I had a near death experience more than 25 years ago, I do not fear death any longer, which is widely considered our biggest fear of all. However, I don’t like sharks or needles. Probably a past life thing…

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? “Deplore” is a harsh word. When I was younger, the voice I heard in my head was a harsh critic, probably the culmination of hateful ideas and belief systems from those adults who raised and/or taught me. I don’t deplore anything at all in myself. I can truly say now that I love myself exactly as I am. Even when I screw up.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? I admire Esther Hicks in the way she has channeled Abraham for more than 30 years! I never expected to do what she does, but I’d like to believe there’s room for more leading edge communicators. I also admire Oprah, for always speaking her truth. I admire my friend Teresa, who intuitively feels like my “spirit mom,” for filling an apparent void filled by the lack of caring from my narcissistic parents. And I admire my kids, for they are the next generation in our ongoing evolution.

What is my greatest extravagance? I love coffee, chocolate, and wine—all in moderation, of course! I adore massages and mani-pedis and all sorts of self-care. Some would consider travel an extravagance, but I consider it a necessity!

On what occasion would I lie? If a friend asked me if she was “fat.” Not a fan of that word, and I struggled with my own body image for far too long. I’d tell her she’s beautiful no matter what, and THAT would be the higher truth.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Nothing at all. Seriously. I have the best “job” on the planet—that’s why I consider it my higher purpose and calling! I get to help OTHERS find their calling—what could be better?

When and where was I the happiest, in my work? Right now. I feel fulfilled and yet eager for more!

If I could, what would I change about myself? Nothing. I am always a work in progress, but I am completely satisfied with who I am and who I am becoming.

What is my greatest achievement in work? My six books are my greatest achievement! The last two have become #1 international bestsellers, and we just recently released the most recent book, which I fully expect to do the same! It’s not because of the money or fame, either. For me, those success markers mean that people are actually READING my books and becoming better versions of themselves, manifesting well and often, and contributing toward peace on our shared planet!

Where would I most like to live? The island of Curacao in the Caribbean. We are planning a Wander Well retreat there in July, and if we love it as much as I expect to, we may move there when my youngest daughter graduates high school in a couple of years.

What is my most treasured possession? My husband and I just recently purchased a Nespresso machine for Christmas for one another. We LOVE it! It makes us feel luxurious.

What is my most marked characteristic? People tell me they love my smile and my unabashed joy for life!

What is my most inspirational location, in my city? I enjoy the many nature trails in my small town. Being in nature always inspires me!

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? My favorite place to eat and drink would be where we ate sushi and drank red wine last night—American Ichi.

What books influenced my life and how? When I was 19 and a pregnant single mom-to-be, I was given a copy of Louise Hay’s “You Can Heal Your Life.” It was a game-changer. I still refer to it all the time! I’ve read a zillion books, but I just finished Carlo Rovelli’s “Seven Brief Lessons on Physics,” which was FANTASTIC, and started “inward” by Yung Pueblo, aka Diego Perez Lacera because I love his quotes on Instagram.

Who are my favorite writers? There are far too many writers to list here! Off the top of my head, Paolo Coelho because he’s an amazing storyteller, and Elizabeth Gilbert because I appreciate her authenticity.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? I don’t believe you only die once! I believe in reincarnation, so I believe we’ve lived and died many, many times, lol. But if I had to pick a song? Sarah McLachlan’s “I Will Remember You.” I love Sarah…

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? To be honest, I haven’t read a good fiction book in a while. Would it be weird to say the main character in my own two fiction books? I love how Bridget Holiday in “All In Her Head” and “All Over It” triumphs over her self-worth issues, something that I struggled with in my youth.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? “Princess Bride”

What role plays art in my life and work? My writing is my art. My eldest daughter, Violet Pickard, is an accomplished artist in her own right. You can find her on etsy.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? My husband, Jodah Reed, of course! We work together side-by-side all day, every day, and it just never gets old.

Whom would I like to work with in 2018? I’d love for TLC or another conscious network to pick up our reality TV show, “Don’t Change The Channel.”

Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2018? I’d LOVE to meet Oprah! It would be so wonderful to meet Esther Hicks as well—my two mentors.

What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? The Power of 10 say that instead of “re-tire” we might say “repurpose.” Re-tire implies you get tired over and over again. Repurpose redirects your energy and your passion into something else that fits where you are today! Your passion is what lights you up and gives you energy to do all the things you want to do to serve on this shared planet. Passion leads to joy, and joy is what we’re all here to find and consistently create.

Which passionate professionals should Peter invite to tell their story? Not sure. I’ll have to get back to you on that!
