What is the best thing that I love about my work? That it provokes emotion to people when they view it. It has inspired many people, young and old to follow their own paths in the arts.

What is my idea of perfect happiness? To always have my family and friends, continue creating art and to be healthy. I would also love be able to be content with everything that life throws at me.

What is my greatest fear? Zombies!! Seriously, they scare the heck out of me. I am also afraid to see the people I love suffer in any way.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? I tend to put myself down too much.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? I have several, Larry Elmore, Tammy Pryce, Carrie Hawks, Enys Guerrero, Jasmine Becket-Griffith and Stephanie Law.

What is my greatest extravagance? I enjoy getting a really nice haircut every few months and occasionally a massage.

On what occasion would I lie? To spare a loved ones’ feelings.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? I feel like time is my biggest obstacle. I know I could produce better work if I had more time to practice. I do have another job and a small child, so I do not get to spend as much time on producing my art as I would like.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work? Presently, because my newest piece of art usually becomes my favorite because I learn something new with each piece.

If I could, what would I change about myself? I am generally pretty happy with myself. However, I do wish that I had wings. Ha!

What is my greatest achievement in work? That I am still here creating it and making a living doing so.

Where would I most like to live? Rivendell

What is my most treasured possession? My health, husband and daughter.

What is my most marked characteristic? My animated personality.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city? My backyard. We live on a huge forest/preserve. I get to see wildlife every day and see the forest itself as its own personality.

What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city? Thinh An Kitchen & Tofu. I have been vegetarian for 20 years, and I love going to this restaurant. They have a huge vegetarian menu with all kinds of tofu options, soups, noodles and veggies. My 6 year old daughter loves the tofu there too.

What books influenced my life and how? Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. I grew up in the 90s and fell in love with the romantic and historical vampires that Anne Rice portrayed in her novels.

Who are my favorite writers? Anne Rice, JK Rowling and Diane Gabaldon.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? 90s Alternative Rock (NIN, Nirvana, Radiohead, etc.), classical music and I have recently fallen in love with Crystal Castles (modern new age beat music). Sorry I know that’s more than 1 genre.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Claire Frasier from the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. She has to overcome prejudice, pain, time, technology and history. She is an intelligent, strong, brave and courageous character.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? My grandfather who passed away almost a year ago. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He loved everyone completely and was unbiased. He was a war hero, a simple gardener and my grandfather.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? Forest Gump

What role plays art in my life and work? Art is my life, passion, therapy and inspiration. It comes in so many shapes and forms, and truly portrays the human condition. I have always thought it to be a universal language.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? One hundred percent, my amazing husband.

Whom would I like to work with in 2018? I just love working with artists in general. If I had to pick one specific artist I would say Larry Elmore. My art excelled and still improves because of this legendary artist. His classes were a pivotal time in my art and I can always learn more from him.

What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? Creating some more of my Alice in Wonderland characters and my Birthstone series of broken dolls.

Where can you see me or my work in 2018? Definitely online and at shows. I am set up at Renaissance Fairs and Conventions through the year. My goal is to have my own art book published within the next couple of years. It has been a goal of mine since the day I started sharing my artwork. I plan to use the kickstarter website as my platform to do this.

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? That your passion is a part of your heart and soul, regardless of whether it is your career. You will continue to bring out a world inside your mind onto paper.
