Passion Never Retires for Marie-Eve Marion

What is the best thing that I love about my work? Promoting the art of my artist Steve Otis in the best ways possible. Having the freedom of creating new projects, experimenting ideas and seeking for potentials associations or participations to events that will be unique and rewarding for the artist, the participants/clients and the manager!

What is my idea of perfect happiness? My idea of perfect happiness is having a sound heart and peace of mind and to be surrounded by the ones I love (2 and 4 legged) and who give me back so much love. It is quite simple but to me it is essential.

What is my greatest fear? DEATH: my loved one’s (humans & animals) and mine. Especially the fact of not knowing that we will reunite once we leave this earth. I’m trying to convince myself that the love we share cannot die and simply separates….

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? Lack of patience when things are not going my way and how I planned or expected them to be. Affects my efficiency and momentum.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? In fact, I admire humble people (in and around my profession or not). People who are talented and who are at the peak of their art but who remain well grounded, generous and pleasant to others.

What is my greatest extravagance? Boots, shoes and wines. Can we ever have enough of them?

On what occasion would I lie? I would lie to protect a loved one from evil people and any type of negativity. However, I would not lie if this person I love committed an awful deed.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Not being answered when contacting people, unreasonable delay of response and having to enquire follow-ups on specific projects, demands. To me it’s a total lack of respect and professionalism and using the “easy” argument of being busy does not work for me. Aren’t we all busy?

When and where was I the happiest, in my work? One of the events that made me the happiest was organizing a meeting with multi disciplinary artist performer Robert Lepage. I’ve admired him for ages he is a genius of visual arts on a planetary level. A very humble soul, very down to earth and warm. He now possesses his own original piece of Otis art. A meeting of 2 of the most talented artists in my life.

If I could, what would I change about myself? I have great difficulty of living in the “here & now”. My brain is quite often planning ahead, reflecting on ideas, visualizing what could be better, more efficient and how could we get further with Productions Maeve.

What is my greatest achievement in work? Making people discover and appreciate the talent and work of Steve Otis, what he is capable of doing in very different artistic styles. And it’s only the beginning…

Where would I most like to live? Probably Australia for the Wildlife, the nature, the sunsets and beautiful vistas.

What is my most treasured possession? Our house in the country with a very big parcel of land, it brings us peace, comfort and tranquility from the hectic city life in which we all work. This incredible space allows us to share our lives with our “furkids” that we adore and who teach us so much.

What is my most marked characteristic? Heart shaped birth mark in my left eye.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city? There is a place not far from here called Le Marais Provancher which border the St Lawrence river, it is a beautiful calm place where the forest merges with the riverbank.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? Neuville is a very small town and there are not many restaurants. However, we are close to the province’s capital Quebec city where there are many great places to eat so very difficult to make a choice.

What books influenced my life and how? The book who touched my life profoundly is Le Petit Prince of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. I read this has a child and I have re read it so many times and still do from time to time. Such a beautiful and moving story, well told, simple and yet reuniting major elements of life.

Who are my favorite writers? Saint-Exupéry, Balzac, Paolo Coehlo and Anaïs Nin.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Tons of Jazz classics, mostly performed by Tony Bennett and Dinah Washington. Specific pieces: Lenny & Riviera Paradise by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Smile composed by Charles Chaplin, Lover you should of come over by Jeff Buckley and You’ll never walk alone by Nina Simone.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Always liked Batman for his total coolness and being a dark badass character, tormented but with a good heart.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Charlie Chaplin has always been a hero of mine for all that he was, all that he created, invented, composed, he was a visionary and an insanely talented man.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? Chaplin of course to discover the man (with his strengths and weaknesses) and the artist or should I say the magician that he was.

What role plays art in my life and work? Well it’s an incredible fuel because it can be used on so many levels: to touch & move you, entertain you and extend your knowledge. And as for the Art I work for and promote, even if I do not create it, I have a very special bond with it cause every piece is an entity and means something.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? Steve Otis without a doubt because we believe in each other, respect very much one another, make each other laugh 🙂 Definitely partners in crime, in business, in life and soon to be married!

Whom would I like to work with in 2018? I simply want to continue working with Steve and achieving new goals and dreams together using the great strength and communion of both our abilities.

Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2018? Managers often work in the dark so I don’t know a lot of them. However, if I extend the “Art” profession at large it covers a lot of spheres and the first person that comes to my mind is Clint Eastwood. I’d love to have a talk with the man. Another great multidisciplinary artist that I admire and his calm and wisdom appeals to me.

What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? Productions Maeve is a constant project that we’ve started in October of 2014 and that I will continue to work on with Steve. A project that always needs to evolve and get better. It’s a lifetime project that is very exciting!

Where can you see me or my work in 2018? At various events starring Steve Otis’s art, promoting his work and always looking for new projects and opportunities.

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? To me passion equals life! It is the fuel that feeds my inner fire. Allows me to accomplish beautiful things and keeps me young at heart. And as long as passion equals life, it makes death become a more patient entity.

Which creative heroines should Peter invite to tell their story? Patricia Klimov
