What is the best thing that I love about my work?  

The fact that my work is my calling. Everything I do in my life is part of the inspiration for my creation, so my life is my work.

What is my idea of perfect happiness?

Now. The time I’m living right now!

What is my greatest fear?  

To lose my inspiration or my creativity

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? 

I find it hard to ‘finish’ my work 

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? 

Bob Dylan is my all-time number one artist… and he’s still alive!
I  admire also Stromae, Christine and the queens, Damien Saez,  people who stay true to themselves, who follow their own path, and reinvent themselves

What is my greatest extravagance?

I adore to express my femininity 

On what occasion would I lie?

To my immediate circle I would never lie, because I couldn’t live a true life and make true art if I’m not ‘true’ as a person to myself and my closest ones. As for the outer world: maybe I would lie to not hurt someone’s feelings.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

To be seen as a product that can sell, not as a creative being that can move… And the administration part…

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?  

I am the happiest during the creative process at home, in my studio. And after a performance: to feel the returning love when somebody tells me that she or he ‘felt it’ . 

If I could, what would I change about myself? 
nothing 

What is my greatest achievement in work?  

That one day in my life I had the courage to look in the mirror and confront myself with ‘me’, which led me to look at myself and the world from another perspective. That is how my work grew into what it is right now. No one else could do this for me, so it must be my greatest achievement in work.

Where would I most like to live? 

In a Beach house in the middle of nowhere with my love.

What is my most treasured possession?

Love and creativity… and Orfeo, my harp.

What is my most marked characteristic?

My versatility

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

My home, my studio

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?

I don’t really have a favorite place for foods, but in my city of Ghent, I like to be in the medieval center.

What books influenced my life and how?

The intriguing character of Grenouille in Patrick Süskind’s ‘Das Parfum’ and books about the history of arts.

Who are my favorite writers?

Anais Nin for her sexuality

Maya Angelou for her love and power

Toni Morrison for her wisdom

Indian or African sounds of long forgotten tribes

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? 

Sheba in Wonderland J 

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

Everyone who believes in hope and in love.

Especially those who live it every single day.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? 

Casablanca

I see art(works) as stepping stones from the ancestors.
